The recent Cambiemos coalition’s electoral victories in the past two elections – the 2015 presidential runoff and last year’s midterms – can be attributed in part to the fact that most political actors in Argentina identifying themselves as Peronists were at odds with each other.

The Peronist parties led by Sergio Massa (Frente Renovador), Florencio Randazzo (Cumplir) and former President Cristina Kirchner (Unidad Ciudadana) spent as much time – or even more – arguing with each other than with the representatives of Cambiemos.
